Architect graduated from the Architecture and Urban Planning School in the Universidad Central de Venezuela, where he received the Student’s National Architecture Award “Carlos Raul Villanueva”, fifth-six semester category. He did his internship at Chacao Municipality, where he was awarded en excellence recognition because of his work in the development and urban restructuring of Blandin Avenue in Caracas, Venezuela. His specialization studies were completed in Universita degli studi “La Sapienza” in Rome, Italy, where he was recognized because of his dissertation score of 110/110 with honors. While living in Rome, he did an internship at AKD AlvisiKirimoto+Partners Architecture studio. Later on, he returned to Venezuela as an Associate Architect for the office Metros Cuadrados until 2009. Since 2010, he joined the team of PROA and founded his personal architecture firm Maurice Canard. Arquitectura_Interiorismo. Maurice writes for the architecture, art, design, and decoration magazine “Aquí esta”, and OC Magazine. Until 2010, he was in the position of Coordinator of the Interior Design major at the Escuela de Diseño de Venezuela. In 2012, he started working in tandem with PYSARQ to create an alliance for interior architecture projects. In 2013, maurice won the National Interior Design Competition held by BLANK Studio, in which Titina Penzini participated as main judge.
