This dentist practice, located inside a small commercial unit, has a basic programming: three cubicles, a management office, bathroom, reception, and waiting room. Thinking about a calm, and cozy space, where the traditional concept of a clinic gets diluted both for the patient, and for the personnel, this program was created through a tight balance in material and volume usage, which transform the place into a space with an impact on the patient, providing a warm and relax environment. Conceptually, the aim was to look for an essence of volumetric shapes generating shadows and transparent panes depending on the daylight. The wood container has supplied a warmth and less clinic-like environment; ground glass panes let the light in the interior of the space, multiplying textures in the outer area; and the white color highlights the reflection of light. The outcome is a space where the contrast between the medical area (within usual standards), and the reception and waiting room (warmer design) is clearly seen.
